PETROJARL I

Norway issued in 1992 two stamps to commemorate EXPO 1992 in Seville, Spain both stamps shows a ship the 3.30 Kr has a stylized passenger ship with two funnels, while the other stamp of 5.20 Kr which has been identified by Mr. Morten Sæbø as the PETROJARL I via a maxi-card. The rainbow connects seen on the stamp connects Spain with Norway.
Built as a production-test ship by Nippon Kokan, Tsurumi, Japan for Golar Nor Offshore A/S, Trondheim, Norway.
01 July 1985 laid down.
01 October 1985 launched as the PETROJARL I.
Tonnage 30,742 grt, 9,222 nrt, 31,473 dwt. Dim.209.2 x 32 x 10m.
Powered by four each 2800 shp NEBB turbines. Twin screws, speed 10 knots in transit.
Accommodation for 68persons, normal crew 43,
23 May 1986 delivered to owners.
The ship is classified as a Floating Production Storage and Offtake vessel (FPSO).
She can operate in water depth between 60 to 650m.
The process system has the following capacities.
Oil flow rate 40,000 STBOPD.
Water flow rate 32,000BWPD.
Gas lift 566,000 S cu.m/day.
She is moored by the Turret Mooring System and incorporates a Kongsberg Albatross Dynamic Positioning system.
The storage capacity is 30,000 cu.m. and the oil is transferred continuously to tankers.
Since 1986, the ship has been operating for Norsk Hydro on the Oseberg and Troll field; for Conoco on the Lyell field, for Shell on the Fulmar field, for Esso on the Balder field, for Amerada Hess on the Angus and Hudson field and finally for ARCO on the Blenheim field.
2001 She was rebuilt and refitted. Dim. 215.25 x 32.05 x 16.2m. Draught 12m., length bpp.194.2m.
Fitted out also with two Wärtsillä 18V32DF diesel engines, 3,720 kW. each,
