MAHU and CORDES

Not any ship is depict on this stamp, but it is still an interesting stamp for the ship on stamps collectors.
The stamp depicts a detailed map of part of the Strait of Magellan on the end of the south coast of South America, the map was made during the passage through the strait by the expedition of Mahu and Cordes to the East Indies via Strait Magellan.
The coastline is accurately surveyed and mapped (most probably when they stayed during the winter in Cordes Bay) and shows us Cordes Bay and on an angled headland on the coast stands Caeyd Holland. (now Punta Holland)
The coastline profile is enlivened by trees, mountain shapes and heights on both sides of the strait.
