BUCKLEY (TE) class Destroyer Escort. Builder and year of build not known. 1400 tons. L306'. B37'. One shaft turbo-electric drive. 12.000shp. 23.5kn. Armament Three 3". Six 40mm AA guns Three 21" TT. Complement 220. Over 100 ships of this class were built for the US Navy, 46 being transferred to the Royal Navy on completion and classified as frigates. The most famous of this class was the USS ENGLAND, sinking 6 Japanese submarines in the Central Pacific between the 18th and 30th May 1944
