PETER VON DANZIG yacht

The yacht was built at the Danziger Werft in Gdanzk for the Akademischen Segler-Verein (ASV) (Academic Sailing Club) in Gdansk.
1936 Launched as the PETER VON DANZIG name after the famous cog, also depict on a stamp of this set.
Displacement 24.70 ton, dim. 17.98 x 4.14 x 2.70m. (draught)
Rigged as a two mast Bermudan yawl.
Sail area 146 m².
The yacht was designed by Henry Gruber and built of U-boat steal with a thickness of 6 mm.

The yacht was special built for the Bermuda to Cuxhaven ocean regatta in 1936, in which she finished as sixth out of 10 yachts, with a time of 24 days, 13 hours 53 minutes.
She competed in the annual Easter races from Helgoland to England.
After World War II the yacht was owned by ASV in Kiel, Germany.
Took part in a various ocean races and was a participant in the Whitbread Round the World Race in 1973.
1991 Sold to Christoph von Reibnitz and renamed in PETER VON SEESTERMÜHE.
She underwent then the following years a gradual restoration in which also an engine was installed.
She has now berths for 13 persons.
Nowadays is she used for individual or group charters.
2013 In service.
