GANYMEDE. 6th Rate. 26 guns. 610tn.bm. L 127'. B33'. She was captured from the French by HMS LOIRE in January 1809. French name was HEBE. She became a convict ship in 1819. Capsized in 1838 and broken up. HMS LOIRE was the ex French LA LOIRE captured in 1798 by Anson - Ascension Is 1986. 1p. SG409 (LB16/10-66. 17/220)
