HEIMDAL. Passenger. Built by Akers mek. Verkstad, Kristiana. Launched in 1892. 578tn. L55m. B8.2m. Dr4.5m. Steam engine of 650ihk. 12kn. Coal capacity 92tn. Armed with Four 76mm. Two 37mm guns. Crew 62. She was commissioned from 1892 to 1946. Laid up at Burntisland on 20th October 1943. She sailed to Norway in May 1945 and was used as an Accommodation ship. Sold in 1946 to Trygve Fagerbaek PIR, Trondheim, Oslo. Rebuilt as a Cargo ship and renamed ROVENA. Sold in 1947 to Ruth Nygaard, Oslo. On the 18th August 1947 she sprang a leak and sank 8nm east of Langanes, Iceland.
