DIE SONNE whaler

The whaler depict is DIE SONNE (the sun) from Hamburg and the stamp is designed after a painting of the maritime painter Franz Wilhelm Stuhr around 1680.
Most of the German whalers at that time where built in the Netherlands which at that time had a large whaling fleet,
DIE SONNE was built after a fleute design; the bow was strengthened with iron plates.
The Dutch and German whalers were whaling in the Arctic waters from Greenland to Spitsbergen.
Not any details on DIE SONNE.
