30 November 1942: Keel laid by the Federal Shipbuilding and Dry dock Co., Port Newark, N.J. as USS BARON (DE-166)
09 May 1943: Launched and christened, sponsored by Mrs. Anne Pl. Baron, widow of Lieutenant Commander Baron 05 July 1943: Commissioned, Lcdr D. McVicker, USNR, in command.

Displacement: 1240 tons (light), 1620 tons (full)

26 April 1946: Decommissioned at Green Cove Springs, Fla. after 2¾ years of service.
14 May 1952: Struck from the NVR.
03 May 1952: Transferred to Uruguay under the Mutual Defense Assistance Program, renamed ROU URUGUAY (DE-1), struck and scrapped in 1990.
