Sapmer 1 (Refrigerated Trawling Factory/Cargo Ship) 1957

She was built in 1957 at Brest France by Rolandswerft G.m.b.H. Shipyard as Pamerol, a refrigerated trawling factory ship, for Worms Compagnie Maritime et Charbonniere, Paris.
Her ownership passed to the Societe Anonyme de Peche Maritime et Ravitaillement in 1966 and her name changed to Sapmer 1. Sha was converted to a dry cargo ship and registered at St.Denis.
Her tonnages are 1,208 gross, 494 net and 1,570 dwt on dimensions of 284'6" oa x 38'2" x 15'2", draft 15'1". Her main machinery consists of two sets of 8-cylinder diesel engines, 320 mm bore x 480 mm stroke, of 2,400 bhp built by motorenwerk, Mannheim, geared to a single shaft. Speed is 15 knots.
In 1977 she was sold to Greek owners and renamed Stavros Emmanuel. In 1979 she was sold to Export Transit Cia. Nav. De Honduras, Puerto Cortes, and renamed Angel. In 1982 renamed Ionian.
Broken up in 1986.
