FRANCISCO
Built as a high speed ro-ro catamaran type ferry under yard No 069 by Incat Tasmania Pty. Ltd. at Hobart, Australia for Buquebus International Ltd. Buenos Aires, Argentina.
08 November 2010 building contract signed
16 May 2011 keel laid down.
08 November 2010 contract signed.
17 November 2012 launched as the FRANCISCO named after Pope Francis.
Tonnage 7,109 grt, 2,133 nrt, 500 dwt. Dim. 99.0 x 26.48 x 6.68m., draught 3.054, length bpp 90.04m.
Powered by 2 GE Energy LM2500 gas turbines each 22MW which drive two Wärtsilä LJX 1720 SR waterjets. Maximum speed by light ship 58.1 knots. The gas turbines are designed to burn LNG or marine distillate (diesel oil). Speed loaded maximum 51.8 knots.
Accommodation for 1000 passengers and 150 cars.
Two aluminium hulls connected with a bridge section.
03 July 2013 completed, registered in Montevideo Uruguay.
