Slovenia issued a mint sheet on 30 May 2014 which depict the first ship of the Slovenian Shipping Company the MARTIN KRPAN named after a fictional character, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Krpan
Built as an iron cargo vessel under yard No 405 by Lindholmens Varv, Göthenburg for Hallands Ångbåts AB ,(R.H. Möller. Mgr.) Halmstad, Sweden.
26 February 1910 launched as the FALKEN.
Tonnage 328 grt, dim. 38.2 (bpp) x 7.3m.
Powered by a triple 3-cyl steam engine, manufactured by the builder, 50 nhp, speed 9 knots.
April 1910 delivered to owners.
1924 Lengthened, tonnage 372 grt 172 nrt, 525 dwt, length 46.5m length bpp.44.3m.
1929 Transferred to Rederi A/B Halland & Norman, (Hj Blomberg), Gothenburg.
1935 Transferred to Angbats A/B Halland, (Harry Trapp),Gothenburg.
1948 Sold to Rederi A/B Rivo, (Gust. Bartley), Gothenburg and renamed RINGO.
1951 Converted to motor vessel, one 2SA 6-cyl. oil engine, manufactured by FrederikshavnsJernst. & Msk hp?, speed10 knots.
1953 Sold to Banque Financiere du Maroc, Puerto Limon, Costa Rica, renamed in SIROB.
1955 Sold to Splosna Plovba Piran, Izola, Yugoslavia and renamed in MARTIN KRPAN.
1965 Sold or transferred to Losinjka Plovidba, Losinj, Yugoslavia and renamed VALUN.
1968 Sold to Brodogradiliste “Cres”, Rijeka, Yugoslavia not renamed.
1973 Arrived at Split, Yugoslavia for scrapping, and work commenced on 01 June 1973 by Brodospas.
