Rondonia BNS (River Patrol Boat) 1975

She is a Roraima Class River patrol vessel of Brazilian Navy. Hull number is (P-31). Her sister ships are Roraima (P-30) and Amapa (P-32).

Built by the MacLaren Shipyards and Marine Service, in Niterói, she was launched in 10 January 1973 and commissioned in 03 December 1975. She operates under the command of ComFlotAM (Commander Amazonas Filotilla) on the waters of the Amazon river basin.

Her name is a tribute to the Brazilian state of Rondônia, which in turn honors the Marechal Cândido Mariano da Silva Rondon (1865-1958), military and Brazilian frontiersman.

Her displacement: 340 ton (default), 365 ton (loaded). Dimensions are lenght 46.30 m, width 8.45 m and draft 1.37 mt. Two screws. Propulsion: 2 diesel engines MAN 6-cylinder V 616 / 18TL generating 1,825 bhp. Speed: 14.5 knots (maximum). Operational radius: 6.000 nautical miles at 11 knots, she has an endurance of 30 days.

Armament: 1 gun Bofors L/70 40 mm; 4 machine guns .50 in. (12.7 mm) single and repairs;2 x 81mm mortars; 2 metralhadoras.50; 2 x Oerlikon 20 mm guns. 2 LAR - Ships Fast Action.

Crew: 48 men (5 officers) including one doctor and dentist.
