Solomon Island issued in 1980 a set of stamps on the tuna fisheries around the islands, the four stamps shows us vessels used in this trade.
Only the SOLOMON FISHER we have some details on

The SOLOMON HUNTER and SOLOMON FISHER were donated in 1979 by the Japanese Government to the Government of Solomon Islands, the two vessel were managed by the Solomon Taiyo Ltd. an Solomon Island/Japanese tuna fishing company.
First used as training vessel with a Solomon Island crew and Japanese teachers in the pole-and-line fishing, then used as pole-and-line tuna fishing vessels in the Solomon Islands waters.
2016 So far I could find only at that year purse-sein tuna fishing vessels were used around the island and of the SOLOMON HUNTER and SOLOMON FISHER I could not find a trace, so most probably sold or abandoned.
Looking for more information and details on the SOLOMON HUNTER, it looks not a large vessel, so most probably under the 100 tons. And who has the fate of both vessels.
