PEN DUICK VI yacht

The PEN DUICK VI was built at the Arsenal de Brest, Franc for the French Syndicate Eric Tabarly.
1973 Completed under the name PEN DUICK VI.
A mono-hull yacht designed by André Mauric, the hull was made of aluminium.
Weight 32 ton, dim. 22.25 x 5.3 x 3.40m. (draught), length on waterline18.80m.
Sail area 600m².
Berths for 14 persons.
She was built for the Whitbread round the World Race 1973/74, she was not so lucky during the race she was dismasted and did not finish the race.
During the Transatlantic single handed race (OSTAR) of 1976 with only Tabarly on board he won this race. During the race he lost contact with his base, due to a breakdown of the radio equipment on board a few days after sailing.
2015 She is still sailing owned by an adventure cruising club in France even making voyages to the Polar Regions.
