The yacht depict on this stamp is the catamaran CAONA designed by Peter Spronk and she was the first yacht built by the St Kitts Boat Building Co.
December 1979 launched as the CAONA, named after the girl-friend of Legramant, a 17th century settler of St Kitts.
Length 40 ft.
She can accommodate 18 passengers and is used for day charters around the islands of St Kitts and Nevis.
She won the St Maarten – St Kitts 800 mile Trade Winds Ocean Race in April 1980.
2015 There is still a CAONA sailing around the islands as a charter yacht, with a blue hull, but she is given with a length of 47 ft. I believe she is not the same yacht, so the depicted yacht most probably sold or scrapped, who has her fate?
