Traditional Boats:
The traditional Chinese boats are generically known as “lorchas” and “junks”. While seeming to be alike to the layman. They differ in detail according to their use for fishing, local traffic, etc. This set depicts fishing boats.
HOK LOU T’ENG: A rowing boat used for coastal and river net fishing. It is about 6m long by 1.5m beam. The prow is curved and the stern rectangular. It is flat-bottomed and can be used in very shallow water.
