KATHERINE GORGE TOURIST LAUNCH

The Australian Post gives by the stamp: Canoe and flat-bottomed boats carry tourists along the dramatic Katherine Gorge carved through ancient sandstone by the Katherine River and the central attraction of Nitmiluk National Park. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nitmiluk_National_Park
The first European to see and name the Katherine River was the Scottish explorer John McDouall Stuart on 4 July 1862, he named the river after Catherine Chambers, the second daughter of expedition sponsor James Chambers.
The craft depict on the stamp is a flat-bottomed tourist launch, on which I have not any details.
