Built as a bulk carrier under yard No 1117 by Sekwang Heavy Industries Co. Ltd., Ulsan, South Korea for Regent Shipping Co. Ltd. U.K.
02 July 2001 first steel cut.
05 March 2002 laid down.
04 October 2002 launched as the DS REGENT.
Tonnage 12.578 grt, 6,861 nrt, 20,001 dwt., dim. 155.15 x 23.7 x 13.0m., length bpp. 143.5m, draught 9.16m.
Powered by MAN-B&W type diesel engine manufactured by STX Engine Co. Lt., Changwon, S, Korea, 8,044 hp, (5,920 kW), one shaft, speed 16 knots.
06 January 2003 delivered to owner, under Bahamas flag and registry, homeport Nassau.

2006 Sold to Massmariner S.A., Geneva, Switzerland, renamed LUGANO. Homeport Basel.
26 June 2013 on a voyage from San Lorenzo, Argentina to Sao Francisco do Sul, Brazil, grounded with on board 18.579 tons of wheat in the Rio de La Plata. She was refloated with the help of tugs a few days later without any damage.
