COLUMBUS LANDING IN HISPANIOLA

Senegal issued in 1991 a set of stamps for the 500th Anniversary of discovery of America.
The 100F stamp shows us “Hispaniola Indians offering Columbus's men piles of gold in exchange for their shoelaces (illustration from Theodor de Bry, 1594)”
The stamp is designed after this drawing and shows us a part of the drawing, most probably the man on the left of the stamp is Columbus.
