Sweden issued in 1970 five stamps designed on places around the Arctic circle. One stamp shows a lake with a beached boat, which is given as a “lappbåt” of which the Aak to Zumbra a dictionary of the World’s Watercraft gives.

“lappbåt” used in North Sweden. The small open boat of the Lapps (Same) has a raking stem and sternpost that curve smoothly to the keel. Clinker-planked with 4 wide strakes; strongly flaring sides amidships; one-piece curved frames, deep across the bottom. Some have a washstrake amidships. Rowed with a single pair of oars, against blocks, well forward.
Length ca 3.75m, beam 1.25m, depth amidships 0.32m.
