AIDAsol is a Sphinx class cruise ship, built at Meyer Werft for AIDA Cruises. She is the fifth Sphinx series ship, preceded by sisters AIDAdiva, AIDAbella, AIDAluna, and AIDAblu, and followed by AIDAmar. AIDAsol was delivered in March 2010. She was christened on 9 April 2011 at Kiel, Germany.
Concept and Construction
AIDAsol was ordered on 13 December 2007, together with her unnamed sister, at Meyer Werft by Carnival Corporation & plc, the parent company of AIDA. It also marked the decision to increase the tonnage and capacity of the then under construction AIDAblu, to 71,000-GT and 2,174 passengers, which makes AIDAsol and AIDAmar her twin sisters in the Sphinx class. The naming ceremony was on 9 April 2011 in Kiel, Germany.
AIDAsol is similarly designed from her latest predecessor, AIDAblu. Facilities included are an additional deck, an onboard brewery and a 2,300-m2 spa facility. AIDAsol is 252 meters in length and 32 meters wide.

The AIDAsol was used for trips to Norway from the summers of 2016 to 2019. From Hamburg, the ship sailed to the most important tourist destinations between Stavanger and Trondheim, including the Hardangerfjord and the Geirangerfjord, on a 10-day voyage. Two ports were even called on two days. Over the winter of 2016/2017 and 2017/2018, the ship was on 7-day tours around the Canary Islands and sailed from Las Palmas on Gran Canaria, Madeira, Lanzarote, La Palma as well Tenerife.
Like the AIDAblu, the AIDAsol made extended Canary Islands tours on Christmas and New Year's Eve for the first time in 2016, which included destinations in the Canary Archipelago and Madeira as well as ports such as Lisbon, Cádiz, and Casablanca.
Since May 23, 2021, AIDAsol has been traveling from Kiel as part of so-called AHOI-Reisen 3 and 4-day tours through the Baltic Sea and the Skagerrak, which can also be combined into a 7-day tour. During the AHOI voyages, Aidasol initially did not dock at any ports due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic but remained at sea throughout, and the ship has been heading to various ports in Sweden since June.
