ALPHONSE-DESJARDINS ferry 1971

She was built as a ferry under yard no 675 by Davie Shipbuilding in Lauzon for the Quebec Government.
01 December 1970 laid down.
29 April 1971 launched as the ALPHONSE-DESJARDINS named in honor of the first founder of the first savings and credit cooperative in North America. One sister.
Tonnage: 1,742 grt, 400 net, 263 dwt, dim 65.24 x 60.4 (bpp) x 21.8m. Loaded draught 3.85m.
Powered by two B&W diesel engines, 2,417 kW, speed 12.5 knots.
Passenger capacity 590, and 54 vehicles, crew 8.
14 June 1971 completed. Imo no 7109233.
She was operated by Traversiers du Québec, Canada.

After completing put in the service between Québec – Lévis.
July 1973, withdrawn from class.
2002 She was modernised
2023 In service. Same owner.
