Zealand barge: a wooden cargo vessel of the Paviljoen Poon type, used in the Zealand barge trade.
A poon (gurnard) with a pavilion. On larger vessels used for barges, the pavilion gurnard sometimes also had a wheelhouse. The pavilion was intended for passengers and was equipped with large "windows." Typical dimensions were approximately 18.5 x 5 meters. These vessels are also called Zealand barges.
