Built as a multi-purpose cargo vessel under yard No. 446 on the VEB Schifswerft “Neptun” at Rostock at that time East Germany, for the Société Nationale des Transports Maritime (Sonatram), Libreville. She was one of the Neptun 421type.
16 April 1983 launched under the name LA MPASSA. One sistership under Gabon flag, L’ABANGA.
Tonnage 9.281 gross, 5.220 net, 12.665 dwt., dim. 150.2 x 21.0 x 11.3m., draught 9.1m. Length between p.p. 140.4m.
One 9 cyl. Halberstadt/MAN diesel engine 9.000 bhp., speed 17 knots.
Three holds 5 hatches, could carry 106 TEU’s when built, 48 hold, 58 deck.
August 1983 completed.

1994 Sold by Sonatram to Togani Maritime Co. Ltd., Valetta, Malta, renamed ALEXIS II.
1996 renamed by owners in AFRICAN COAST.
2001 Managed by DND Management at Athens, Greece.
2003 Still in service under the name AFRICAN COAST.
July 2003 sold to United Sea Lines, Dhaka, Bangladesh and renamed UNITED PROSPERITY, managed by Alunited Maritime Business, Dhaka.

2009 As given by http://www.equasis.org in service same owner and name. (IMO No 8311015.)

2009 Sold to Bangladesh breakers, arrived Chittagong 01 december 2009 and beached on 06 January 2010 for breaking up.
