Built as paddle steamer with an iron hull by Escher Wyss & Co at Zürich, Switserland for the Dampfschifffahrtgesellschaft fur den Bodensee and Rhein.
Launched as LEOPOLD (II) she was the second ship for the company under this name.
Tonnage 126 ton displacement, dim. 36.50 x 5.6 x 1.05m. (draught), over paddle boxes 11.4m.
First the old 5-cyl. steam engine of the LEOPOLD (I) was built in, 40 ihp, speed 13km/h. Later replaced by a 2-cyl. oscillating steam engine, 120 hp, speed 18 km/h.
Could carry 350 passengers and 25 ton cargo.
1840 Completed. Homeport Konstanz/Baden.

Used in the service across Bodensee (Lake Constance).
1860 Complete refitted.
1863 Taken over by the Grosherzoglich Badischen Staatseisenbahn, (Grand Duchy of Baden Railway).

After a service of 65 year in 1905 out of service and scrapped.

The design of the stamp is from a sketch by E. Hofmann.
