The 30f. stamp of the Ivory Coast Republic shows the motorship Piave, of the Lloyd Triestino, alongside the quay, with a flour mill in the background. This 7,000 ton deadweight cargo vessel, 4,907 gross tons, was built in 1955 by Ansaldo, Genoa. Her dimensions are: length 42711. 10ins. o.a. beam 59ft. Sins., draft 24ft. lin. and speed is 15 knots. There are 14 winches and 14 derricks, including two heavy lift, while the insulated cargo space is 2,896 cub. ft., grain capacity 442,674 cub. ft. and bale capacity 402,702 cub. ft.

Built by Cantieri Navali Ansaldo, Genoa or Cantieri Riuniti dell' Adriatico.
Gt:4873, L:130,45m. B:18,28m. draft:7,30m. 6 cyl. engine:5400 hp.
No more information.

Built as a cargo vessel under yard No 1806 by Cantierie Riuniti dell Adriatico, Trieste, Italy for Lloyd Triestino SpA, Trieste,Italy.
16 November 1953 keel laid down.
19 September 1954 launched under the name PIAVE. Two sisters the AQUILEIA and ISONZO
Tonnage 4.907 gross, 2.681 net, 6.875 dwt., dim. 427.10 x 59.6 x 24½ft.
One 6-cyl. CRDA-Sulzer diesel, 6.480 bhp., speed 15 knots. Had a range of 12.000 miles before refuelling.
Cargo capacity 445.000 cubic feet grain, 445.000 cubic feet bale.
The five hold were served by twelve 5-tons, two 8-tons, one 15 tons and one 30 ton derricks, with electric winches.
20 June 1955 completed.

In service between Italy and West African ports so far as Angola, and she were designed for a regular cargo service.
She are of it shelterdeck type with five tweendecks and five holds, three before and two after the accommodation block.
She are designed mainly to carry bulk seed, general cargo and timber in logs. The tweendeck is fitted out to carry cattle.
Have a small hold forward for carriage of mining explosives, which can be flooded when necessary.
The type has three deep tanks to carry vegetable oil. Hold No 1 can be used to carry petrol in drums.
Has a small refrigerating hold of 2.800 cubic feet abaft the engine room.
1981 Sold to Intra Sun Shipping Ltd., Panama, renamed in INTRA SUN.
26 March 1982 arrived by Viswanath Ruba, Bombay, India for scrapping.
