During World War II a total of 1435 LCT (Landing Craft Tank) were built in the USA by 5 shipyards and 8 steel fabricators.

The LCT – 515 was built at the Bison Shipbuilding Corp., Buffalo N.Y. for the USA Navy.
02 July 1943 laid down.
10 August 1943 launched.
Displacement 143 tons light weight, 309 ton fully loaded. Dim. 199.1 x 32.8 x 5ft. (draught).
Powered by 3 Greyhound Marine Diesels, each 335 hp., three shafts., speed maximum 18 knots
Range by a speed of 7 mile, 700 miles.
Armament 2 – 20mm AA guns and 4 – 0.50 cal. machine guns.
Crew 14.
Cargo capacity 150 short tons.
27 September 1943 commissioned.

During World War II was she assigned to the European Theater in LCT Flotilla 4 under command of LCDR Louis E. Hubbard.
Took part in the invasion of Normandy between 6 and 24 June 1944, in which she was damaged.

When she was decommissioned and struck of the Navy List is unknown
1946 Given to the Chinese Nationalists, and captured by the Chinese communist forces in 1949.
Fate unknown.
