SHOUE or SHEWE, a small single masted craft common in Kuwait where they are much used as pearling ships. They rarely exceed a size of 15 tons.

SHOUE or SHEWE is used in the Arabian Peninsula, Persian Gulf and Oman, still built in some areas.
In Kuwait used as a single masted double ended fishing boat for pearling, or a large (23 – 50 metres) coaster.
Carvel planked, the vessel on the stamp has a curved stem and stern.
Delicate sheer, flared sides. Low bow; upswept bow with a low railing around it.
Tall rudder.
She are now mostly motorized, but before sailed or rowed.
Stepped one or two masts carrying quadrilateral lateen types sails with short luffs, sail tacked to sliding boom that extended beyond the stem.
Crew 6-10 but larger vessels employed as many as 40.
Reported lengths 4.6 – 15.8 metres. e.g. 13.8 x 4.3 x 1.8m.
Generally under 15 tons.
