An issue of stamps by the Republic of Paraguay in 1948 commemorates the 100th anniversary of the formation of Paraguay's merchant fleet. Below the portraits of Presidents C. A. Lopez, 1848 and J.N. Gonzalez, 1948 is the Paraquari an American-built twin-screw coasting motor tanker. Of 633 gross and 323 net tons on dimensions 178.1ft x 30ft. x 12ft, she was built in 1945 by John H. Mathis and Co., of Camden, NJ. and was originally the US. Army coastal tanker Y62.

Built in 1945 by J.H. Mathis, Camden, New Jersey (#165) as tanker Y 62 for the US Army. Rebuilt in 1948 as a freighter in Wilmington, California, Gt:633, Nt:323, Dw:1030, Loa:55,61m. Lbpp:54,40m. Br:9,16m. Draft:3,50m. 2-6 cyl. Cooper/Bessemer diesels, 2 shafts, sold to Flota Mercante de Estado, Asunsion, Paraguay as PARAGUANI, IMO.5270430, fate unknown.

After the company was privatized was she in 1991 transfered to Compania de Transporte Fluvial S.A. (Water Transport Company) at Asuncion. Not renamed.
Not any info on her thereafter.
