The 3 c stamp depicts the galleon Los Reyes of Mendana, in which he discovered the Solomons in 1568, during this first voyage (1567-1569). The name of this ship has been given in some stamp journals as the San Jeronimo, but this was his ship on his second voyage (1595-1597).
