COURIER

Built as a wooden ship by Currier & McKay, Newburyport, Mass. For Andrew Foster & Sons New York.
Launched under the name COURIER.
Tonnage 392 ton.
1842 Completed.

She was designed by Donald Mc Kay and special built for the transport of coffee from Rio de Janeiro to New York, and was a very fast sailing vessel.
From her first voyage to her end was she under command of Capt. William Wolfe.
1853 The COURIER ran aground on the Falkland Islands and was lost.
