Built under yard No 224 as a fish factory vessel by Stocznia Gdanska, Gdansk, Poland for Russian Government account (Sudoimport).
12 April 1958 launched under the name SEVERODVINSK the first of the type B-62 fish factory vessels.
Tonnage 10.026/10.033 gross, 4.653/4.663 net, 9.795/9.900 dwt., dim. 155.4 x 20.05 x 8.2m. (draught). Length bpp. 142.0m.
Powered by compound 8-cyl steam engine with a low pressure turbine, manufactured by ZUT Zgoda, 5.000 ihp., twin shafts, speed 14.5 knots.
359.000 Cubic feet reefer space.
Fitted out with a hospital for the wounded or sick crewmembers of the trawlers who accompanied the vessel at sea.
256 crew.
Could stay at sea for around 60 days.
31 December 1958 delivered.

Twelve of the type B-62 were ordered but only 11 built, all for Russian account, and she were the first purpose-built factory ships, earlier versions were conversions from passengers-cargo liners.

02 May 1991 the SEVERODVINSK arrived at Aliaga, Turkey for breaking up.
