MARCELI NOWOTKO B-54 class

Built as a cargo vessel under yard No 147 by Stocznia Gdanska, Gdansk, Poland, for Polish Ocean Lines.
November 1955 launched under the name MARCELI NOWOTKO.
Tonnage 6.660 gross, 3.666 net, 10.273 dwt. Dim. 153.9 x 19.4 x 8.3m. (draught). Length bpp. 141.6m.
One Fiat diesel, 8.000 hp., speed 16 knots.
31 October 1956 delivered to owners.

She was the proto-type of the B-54 class of which many were built on this yard.
12 July 1976 on a voyage from Danzig to Newport came she in collision with the German coaster SLEIPNER (500 gross ton) in the vicinity of Rozewie light-tower (Rixhöft), the MARCELI NOWOTKO got minor damage but the SLEIPNER had to be beached were she was wrecked.
Circa 29 February 1980 she arrived at Kaohsiung, Taiwan were she was scrapped.

(Navicula gives that the vessel depict on the Polish 1969 stamp 1z50 also depict a type B-54 vessel, Stanley Gibbons Collect Ships on Stamps gives she is a trawler.)
