Built as a ferry under yard No 1880 by Cant. Riuniti dell’Adriatico, Monfalcone, Italy for the Hellenic Tourism Organisation, Piraeus.
09 May 1964 launched under the name APHRODITE.
Tonnage 3.963 gross, 2.153 net, 740dwt., dim. 105.14 x 16.92 x 4.55m., length bpp. 87.0m.
Powered by two 7-cyl Sulzer-Adriatico diesels, 5.500bhp., twin screws, speed 15 knots. Fitted out with a bowthruster.
Accommodation for 1.461 passengers and 40 cars.
01 April 1965 delivered.

She was built as one of the last World War II reparations by Italy to Greek.
After delivery managed by K Lines (Greek Coast Line), Piraeus, and used in the thrice weekly sailings from Piraeus to Rhodes or Dodecanese and Crete.
1966 Taken over by the Sun Line Inc., Piraeus, Greece, and renamed STELLA OCEANIS.
1967 Refitted in a cruise vessel by the Mariotti Shipyard in Genoa. Accommodation for 353 passengers.
Thereafter mostly used for cruises, in the summer in the Mediterranean, Red Sea, and during the winter in the Caribbean.
1972 Transferred to Oceanic Sun Line Special Shipping Co. Inc., Greek.
01 Dec. 1995 transferred to Royal Olympic Cruises, (Api Shipping Ltd.) Piraeus.
October 2003 sold to unknown buyers at St Vincent and Grenadines for scrapping
November 2003 renamed S OCEAN for her last voyage to the breakers.
She was sold to Shreeji Traders, India, and demolition commenced 30 December 2003.
