Built as container ship under yard No 1023 by A.G.Weser, Werk Seebeck, Bremerhaven for the Hamburg Sud Amerikanische D.G., Hamburg.
02 June 1978 keel laid down.
04 November 1978 launched as COLUMBUS LOUISIANA.
Tonnage 19.193 gross, 13.511 net, 20.100 dwt., dim. 168.70 x 28.10 x 10.0m.
One 6-cyl 2s C.SA oil engine, manufactured by Sulzer Bros Ltd., Winterthur, Switzerland, 14.400hp., speed 19.5 knots.
Could carry 950 TEU’s, of which many were cool-containers.
Crew 29 men.
02 April 1979 delivered to owners.

After delivery used in the Columbus Line East Coast North America to Australia/New Zealand service.
From October 1987 till November 1987 lengthened by her builder. Tonnage increased to 24.081 gross, 10.181 net, 23.165 dwt., length 183.70m.
Fuel capacity 2.253m³, and water ballast 3.789 m³.
Thereafter carried 1.211 TEU’s, of which 540 cool-containers.

1992 Renamed in OREGAN STAR after she was chartered by the Blue Star Line.
1994 Renamed in COLUMBUS VICTORIA.
06 May 2002 grounded at West Middle Rock south of Kingston, Jamaica, and refloated 12 May seemingly without damage. At that time she was owned by Labano Marine Co., Ltd, Cyprus.
2007 Sold to Bangladesh breakers and demolition commenced Chittagong 15 January 2007.
