Built as cargo vessel under yard No 671 by Burmeister & Wain A/S Copenhagen for Rederiaktieselskabet Dannebrog, Copenhagen.
16 December 1943 launched under the name DANSBORG, named after a fortress in Tranquebar, Danish India, the fort was built by the Danish in 1620 and sold in 1845 to England.
Tonnage 4.983 gross, 2.896 net, 8.920 dwt., dim. 134.4 x 17.1 x 7.8m. (draught).
One B&W 8 –cyl. diesel engine, manufactured by shipsbuilder, 4.800 ihp. Speed 13.5 knots.
May 1944 completed but laid up at Copenhagen with a dismantled main engine.
09 September 1945 officially handed over to owners.
Used by the company in world wide tramping.
March 1951 sold to Centromor Centrala Morska Importowo, Warsaw, Poland, then transferred to Polish Government and renamed POKÓJ, managed by Polish Ocean Lines.
Chartered for a long running time-charter by Chipolbrok, a Polish – Chinese company.
1966 Sold to the People’s Republic of China, renamed SONG JIANG.
1976 renamed by China Ocean Shipping Co. in HONG QI 135.
1991 Broken up in China.
