ANDROMEDA

Built as a wooden-hulled motor torpedo-boat by Båtservis, Mandal, Norway for the Greek Navy.
Launched under the name ANDROMEDA (P196), four sisters.
Displacement 69 ton standard, 76 ton full load, dim. 24.5 x 7.5 x 1.95 m.
Powered by two 18-cyl.Napier Deltic turbocharged diesels, 3.100 bhp each, twin screws, speed 45 knots.
Range 676 mile by 17 knots.
Armament 1 – 40mm Bofors aft, 1 – 20mm Oerlikon guns fore. 4 – 21 inch torpedo tubes.
Crew 20.
November 1966 commissioned.

Many were in service by the Norway Navy as the Tjeld class, derived from the Nasty class.
1988 Received new engines, 2 MTU 12V331 TB83 diesels each 1.140Kw, twin shafts, speed 40 knots.
2006 In use as a patrol boat by the Greek Navy.
