ROMNEY

Built under yard no 1214 as cargo vessel by Cammell Laird & Co., Birkenhead for Lamport & Holt Line, at Liverpool.
Launched under the name ROMNEY.
Tonnage 8.237 gross, 4.980 net, 10.550 dwt. Dim. 470 x 63.5 x 39.3ft., draught 28.3 ft. length between pp. 436.2ft.
One steamturbine 8.250 hp., speed 15 knots, one screw.
May 1952 delivered to owners.

She was built for the United Kingdom to South America East Coast trade.
Between 1957/58 under command of Capt. B.M.Metcalf she made six round voyages between Montreal and the West Indies and Georgetown, returned thereafter again in the U.K.- South America East Coast Line.
03 October 1978 arrived Faslane to be broken up by Shipbreaking Industries.
