Built as a wooden cargo vessel by an unknown builder in Portland, Maine for Sebastian Lawrence, et al, New London.
Launched under the name GRAPESHOT.
Tonnage 345 ton, dim. 120.2 x 26.3 x 11.1ft.
Barque rigged.
1853 Completed.

1861 She was sailing under command of Capt. Watson, and owned by P.N. Giraud, New Orleans.
1862 Under command of Capt. J. Frisby and owned by Trowbridge & Son, New Haven.

Then she disappears out of the registers, fate not know.

Built by David Spear Jr. Cumberland, Me. for the merchant Sebastian Lawrence of New London, Conn.
30 January 1854 she sank due to movement of ice which put two holes in her bow below the waterline in the East River, Brooklyn New York. At that time she was loaded with flour and ready for sailing. She was salvaged and repaired.
