Salah-el-Deen

Egypt has issued a second stamp commemorating the progress of her shipbuilding industry. This latest issue depicts the vessel Salah-el-Din being constructed at the Suez Canal Authority 's shipyard at Port Fuad to the order of the United Arab Republic. She will have an overall length of 330 ft. 7 ins., a beam of 48 ft. and a depth of 2711., and will he driven by MAN. oil engines. Her managers will be the United Arab Maritime Company.

Built in 1966-'72 by Suez Canal Authority, Port Fuad, #79, for the Egyptian Navigation Co (ENC) Alexandria.
General Cargo, Gt:3254, Nt:2038, Dw:4267, Loa:100,03m. Lbpp:92m. B:14,64m. D:8,54m. Draught:6,27m. 8 cyl. MAN diesel:3080 hp. (2266 kW.) 13 kn. 3 holds, 8 derricks SWL;5 tons, 2-3 tons, ice strengthened, IMO.6603969, callsign:SUXT.
March 1985 damaged by fire. Classed LR until 17/7/85, scrapped in ????
