Built as a cargo/reefer vessel under yard No 106 by Aarhus Flydedok Og Maskinkompagni A/S, Aarhus, Denmark for H/F Jõklar, Reykjavik, Iceland.
15 April 1959 launched under the name LANGJOKULL.
Tonnage 1.987 gross, 1.072 net 4.100 dwt., dim. 87.9 x 12.6m.
Powered by one 8-cyl. Deutz diesel 2.000 bhp., one propeller, speed 13 knots.
Reefer capacity 86.380 cubic feet.
Strengthened for ice.
25 September 1959 completed.
She was the biggest ship so far built by this shipyard.
Used mainly for the transport of frozen fish to Europe and the North American markets.
1967 Sold to the North Korean Government, renamed MAG I.
The same year renamed in POONG DE SAN, same owners. (the name given by Stanley Gibbons Ships on Stamps PONGDAESAN is not correct. North Korea 1984 10ch sg N 2438)
1995 Renamed in LA PAL SAN, same owners.
2005 Deleted by Lloyds Register.
