Built 1864, Humber Iron Works, Hull. 1,371Gt Iron ship 3 decks, Ship Rig. Sailed on the Hull - India route. 1874 employed on the emigrant trade Calcutta - British Guiana. Known as "Coolie Ships". Her first doctor, Richard Rivers, was noted for the fine health of his Indian passengers. On this first voyage the ship carried 383 men, 81 women, 17 boys, 10 girls and 19 infants. Only four adults were lost, a tribute to the doctor. In 1889 she was destroyed by fire with a cargo of jute. The crew were rescued by the S.S. SILVERDALE. Barbados SG1042B
