
Built in India before 1811, in this year is given by Lloyds that she complete was overhauled and repaired, and carried the name PRUDENT. Tonnage given as 227 gross. Homeport London.
1814 Given that the London Whaling Company was the owner, that she was managed by Birnie & Co. sometimes given as Bernie & Co. and she sailed from an English South Coast port under command of Capt. Richards in convoy to the South Seas Fisheries on 30 August 1814.
12 December 1815 she returned from the South Seas Fisheries at Gravesend.
13 June 1817 she arrived again from the South Seas Fisheries under command of Richards at Gravesend.
20 June 1817 sailed out again.
16 October 1818 arrived at the Cape of Good Hope, captain given as the late Richards.
08 January 1819 arrived at Gravesend under command of Capt. Foster.
19 March 1819 she sailed from the River Thames to the South Seas Fisheries under command of Capt. Hayward.
07 March 1821 arrived at Gravesend from the South Seas under command of Capt. Hayward.
29 June 1821 sailed from Gravesend for the South Seas under command of Capt Haywood.
September 1824 spoken to when she was underway from Valparaiso to London.
03 September 1824 arrived at Dover under command of Capt. Haywood.
02 November 1824 Sailed from the River Thames for the South Seas Fisheries under command of Capt. Sullivan. Captain was changed in an English South Coast port, she sailed 30 November out under command of Capt. Gulliver. 08 April 1825 at the Cape Verde Islands.
30 May 1826 was reported in Sydney that she whaled in New Zealand waters, with on board 275 tons whale oil, and intended to fish there till the end of February.
February 1826 arrived at the Bay of Islands, New Zealand. It looks she regular made calls at this bay, a well-know place by whalers for water and stores. On the 29 September 1826 she was again there.
May or June 1827 she visited Murilo, Micronesia and put the seaman William Floyd ashore, her captain is given as Callower, must be Gulliver.
09 November 1827 she arrived at the Cape of Good Hope.
14 November 1827 still under command of Capt. Gulliver she arrived at Gravesend.
After discharging repaired and fitted out for a new whaling voyage.
19 February 1828 she sailed from the River Thames under command of Capt. Fisher for the South Seas Fisheries.
03 May 1831 sailed from the Cape of Good Hope under command of Capt. Wakeling. Arrived the UK on 29 July 1831.
02 December 1831she sailed from the River Thames under command of Capt. Wakeling for the South Seas Fisheries.
September 1833 at the Seychelles with on board 1100 barrels whale oil. 16 February 1835 at the Cape of Good Hope. 09 July 1835 arrived at Gravesend under command of Capt. Wakeling.
She is then not more mentioned in Ships Employed in the South Seas Trade.
1840 Her owner given as J.Grant, with register port London, sailed out under command of Capt. Murdock, bound for Quebec.
Many of this old ships were used in the timber trade from Canada till she were lost in one of the winter storms in the North Atlantic.
She disappears from Lloyds Register before 1848.
