Cargo vessel built 1954 Netherland Dock and Schps. Maats, Amsterdam for Royal Nedlloyd, The Hague.
7148gt. 4178Nt. L493’3” B63’, Dr28’1”. Diesel engine. 16.5knts. 12 passengers.
Stamp design taken from aerial photograph but designer has omitted the ships samson posts. Tanzania SG136.

Built as a cargo vessel under yard No 464 by Nederlandsche Dok & Scheepsbouw Maatschappij (NDSM), Amsterdam for the N.V. Verenigde Nederlandsche Scheepvaart Maatschappij (VNS), s’Gravenhage, Netherlands.
20 February 1954 launched as the OUDERKERK.
Tonnage 7.148 gross, 4.178 net, 10.340 dwt., dim. 150.35 x 19.13 x 12.43m., length bpp. 138.68m. draught 8.53.
Powered by one 8-cyl. oil engine, manufactured by Gebr. Stork & Co., Hengelo, 7.200 shp., speed 16 knots.
May 1954 delivered as OUWERKERK to the VNS, she was named after the place OUWERKERK on Schouwen-Duivenland, Netherlands.

Used in the liner services of the VNS.
1970 Transferred to the Nedlloyd.
1973 Sold to Gesuri Lloyd, Djakarta, Indonesia, renamed GEMILANG.
1982 Broken up at Belawan. near Medan, Indonesia.
