Le PÉRICLÉS paddle steamer 1852

Built as a two masted iron side-paddle wheel steamer by Chantiers de La Ciotat, France for Compagnie des Services Nationales des Messageries Maritimes.
December 1851 laid down.
23 May 1852 launched as Le PÉRICLÉS.
Tonnage 281 tons, dim. 53.4 x 6.5 m.
Powered by a steam engine 500 hp., speed 9 knots, bunker consumption 632 kg coal.
Crew; 4 officers and 32 crew.
Schooner rigged
July 1852 completed. She was built under the supervision of the British engineer Barness, but when he died she was completed under the supervision of Vence Fils II.

After completing based at Greece for the packet service between Piraeus, Greece and the island Syra in the Aegean Sea in connection with the packet service to Constantinople, Turkey
1853 She was the first vessel in the service to Lisbon.
From 1854 to 1861 based in Constantinople and used in the local services to various destinations.
From 1861 based at St Vincent, Cape Verde in the service between this port and Corée, Senegal. She was replacing there the TÉLÉMAQUE.
March 1871 she arrived at her building side to be scrapped by La Ciotat.
