NAUTICAS MEXICO training vessel 1981.

Built as a cargo/training vessel under yard No 628 by B.V. Scheepswerf & Machinefabriek “De Merwede” v/h van Vliet & Co., Hardinxveld, Netherland for the Mexico Government (Merchant Marine).
21 February 1981 launched under the name NAUTICAS MEXICO.
Tonnage 12.094 grt, 7.446 net, 12.796 dwt., dim. 150.5 x 21.6 x 12.6m., draught 9.2m., length bpp. 140.0m.
Powered by one diesel engine, 10.260 hp, one propeller, speed 18 knots.
One bow-thruster.
Accommodation for 17 officers and 40 crew, 17 instructors and 200 cadets.
31 July 1981 completed. Building cost $38 million.

Fully equipped as a training vessel for the Merchant marine and to provide the 200 cadets with hand-on training.
Fitted out with class and practice rooms, a duplicate bridge and engine room simulators.

In use as a normal cargo vessel, made worldwide voyages from Mexico, with containers, general cargo or dry bulk
2005 Not more in use as a training vessel. During her service as a training vessel she travelled a distance more as 1 million sea-miles.

2008 As given by http://www.equiasis.org in service under same name and owner, but according her classification bureau Germanischer Lloyd, is her survey overdue and withdrawn from class, so it looks that she is laid up. IMO No. 7926370. Tonnage given as 10.980 grt.

2008 Renamed in MARIA.
2009 Renamed in MARIA I
01 July 2014 arrived at Aliaga, Turkey for scrapping.
