CHUNG RYONG No 3 tug 1977

Built as a tug under yard No. h38 by Hyundai Shipbuilding & Heavy Industries, Ulsan, South Korea for Hyundai Construction Co. Ulsan.
25 December 1976 keel laid down
14 March 1977 launched under the name HYUNDAI No 111.
Tonnage 1.486 grt., 534 net, 1.804 dwt., dim. 65.76 x 13.6 x 6.3m.
Powered by two 4SA 12-cyl. oil engines, manufactured by Hitachi Nico Transmission Co. Ltd., Niigata, 5915 hp. (4.413 Kw.), twin screws, speed 14.75 knots.
Bunker capacity 1.668 cubic meters. Fresh water 210 ton, water ballast 63 ton.
20 May 1977 completed.

If she ever has sailed under the name HYUNDAI No 111 is not sure, already in 1977 renamed by the owners in CHUNG RYONG No 3.
1984 Renamed by owners in HYUNDAI T No 1003.
1995 Sold to Asian Salvage Ltd. St Vincent and the Grenadines, renamed in SALVAGE CHALLENGER.
15 November 1996 took the bulk carrier JOLLITY in tow in position 17 47N 119 20E after she reported a leak and her engine room flooded. 18 November the tow arrived safely in Hong Kong.

2005 Detained in Vladivostok, Russia

2008 http://www.equasis.org gives, same name and owner, managed by Asian Marine, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. IMO No 7640263.

June 2016 broken up in China.
