A twin screw motorship built by Harland and Wolffe at Glasgow, for Bank Line. (A Weir & Co., managers).
gross tonnage 5,149 nt 3,119. One deck and shelter deck. Carries vegetable oil in her deep tank.
Length 420ft, Breadth 54ft5in, Depth 26.5ft, Draught 26.8ft.
Port of registry, Glasgow.
She was launched in 1924 and camely safely through the War.
She was named after an earlier ship of the name, a four masted barque of 2,282 gt built of steel by Russel & Co., Port Glasgow on 1890. This barque was sold to E Mansen of Norway in 1913 and three years afterwards was again sold and renamed Asuf. Abandoned in 1939.
