GRENADINES STAR

Built as a landing craft (LTC) under yard No 1008 by the Tweed Shipyard (Berwick) Ltd., Berwick for the Government of St. Vincent.
16 August 1978 launched under the name GRENADINES STAR.
Tonnage 133 grt, 45 net, 116 dwt., dim 26.55 x 8.16 x 1.42m. (draught).
Powered by two diesel engines, 520 hp., twin screws.
The building of the craft took around 10 months.
November 1978 completed. Building cost approximately £250.000.
Registered at St Vincent&Grenadines.

She was designed to carry passengers and vehicles on inter island routes.
Carrying capacity 100 tons liquid cargo or 80 tons dry cargo.
November 1978 sailed from the Tweed shipyard bound for the West Indies.
2005 Advertised for sale.
http://www.equasis.org gives for 2009, still in service for the St. Vincent Government, IMO No. 7724485.
2011 Sold to A. Maritime Ltd. Tortola, British Virgin Islands, renamed CAY SEAL. Panama flag and registry.
2023 Same name and owners.
