FLAMINGO container vessel

She was built as a container vessel under yard no 2002 by Flensburger Schiffsbau Ges., Flensburg, Germany, for Empresa de Navegacao Aliance S.A. Brazil.
31 June 1984 first section placed.
14 May 1985 launched under the name FLAMENGO.
Tonnage 20.995 gross, 10.399 net, 26.850 dwt., dim. 178.50 x 31.00 x 16.00m, draught 11.20m..
One MAN B&W oil engine 2SA 5 cyl. 11.298 bhp., Escher Wyss controllable pitch propeller, speed 18.5 knots.
Can carry 1.402 TEU’s, 656 in hold and 746 on deck, as plugs for 265 reefer containers.

She was originally built for the German owners Hamburg Sud and sailed under German flag, changed to Brazil flag in 1997; she is managed now by Alianca Navegacao e Logistica S.A. Rio de Janeiro and locally registered by Alianca Transportes Maritimos S.A.

2013 Sold by Alianca Navegacao (Columbus Shipmanagement GmbH), Brazil to Leyal Gemi Sokum Ltd, Aliaga, Turkey for scrapping and work commenced on 01 Novemner 2013.
